Friday, April 5th marked the beginning of the Erasmus+ program activities at the Zespół Szkół Ekonomicznych i Ogólnokształcących nr 6 in Łomża. Students had the chance to share about themselves, their universities, and their countries, promoting international exchange ideas among students who are just planning their journey into adulthood and choosing the right schools. The meeting focused on linguistic and cultural diversity.
Hasan Can Altinbas, an English Philology student from Mersin University in Turkey, showcased landmarks, landscapes, and his passion for foreign language learning, which led him to meet Noam Chomsky, the father of modern linguistics.
Another student who caught the students' attention was Shergazy Asilbekov, a Computer Science student at Alytaus Kolegija UAS in Lithuania. Despite coming from Lithuania, Shergazy passionately shared about his home country, Kyrgyzstan, showcasing its beautiful places, traditional instruments, and attire.
The final presentation was given by Bilge Doga Ruzgarlik, also from Mersin University in Turkey. She enchanted the audience with stories and photos of her cats, sparking lively discussions. Additionally, she presented traditional Turkish dishes, igniting a vibrant conversation comparing them to the local cuisine.
It was a great opportunity to learn about foreign students and the Erasmus+ Program, as well as to explore interesting traditions and customs. The 1,5h event aligns with the collaboration between the University of Lomza and the Zespół Szkół Ekonomicznych i Ogólnokształcących nr 6 in Łomża, aiming to promote English language among students and organize engaging interactions for international students.
Following the presentations, a friendly football match was played between our international students and the representatives of the Zespół Szkół Ekonomicznych i Ogólnokształcących nr 6 Despite our students trailing 1:4, they celebrated a 5:4 victory by the final whistle!
